Sepia Saturday - Brothers and Sisters

Here is my Great grandfather and his sisters.

The photo on the right was taken in Napoleon Ohio before 1894 and the one on the left I calculate around 1910 as George looks around 15. This was taken in Salford, Manchester.

George has the same hair cut in both photos!

middle George Arthur Beard 1886 - 1952
right Ada May Beard 1883 - ?

  2. It looks to me as if his sister is holding him down in the chair in the picture on the left.

  3. Is there something wrong with my math? 1910-1894=16.If that is the same boy, how can he be 15 sixteen years later?

  9. Sepia Saturday . . . Hello. My name is Barry Beard. I have recently learned that my great-great-great-grandfather was Soloman Beard. I am the son of Kenneth Beard, who is the son of Warren Beard, who is the son of William Beard (and William Beard's first wife, Clara Blanche Cring), who is the son of Charles F. Beard, whom I believe is the son of Soloman Beard. I haven't taken the time to read your entire blog yet, but I am fascinated by it. Perhaps we can communicate more about this? Best regards. Barry

    1. Hi Barry, I think I'm your fourth cousin(?) as Solomon is also my great-great-great Grandfather. I have been in communication with a third cousin too, Karen Stephens (we share great-great grandfather Alfred Beard) before now via roots chat. I only decided to pick-up tracing the family tree again today and all it took was a quick google of "Solomon Beard"! Gotta love the internet :-) My Grandmother was Dorothy Lowe (daughter of Nellie Beard) and my Mother, her daughter, is Lynda Mills and I see that some of my pictures (of Dorothy, Edna and Nellie for example) have found their way on to this blog, which is nice! If you'd like to keep in touch, I'll send you my email address, kind regards Heather Mills.
